No Vote, No Public Hearing Thursday On CVS Proposal

The city of St. Joseph Planning Commission will discuss the proposed rezoning of parcels along Niles Avenue at Napier this week, but will not take a vote. Developers want to turn what is now Florin Funeral Home and a few surrounding lots into a CVS pharmacy and are facing stiff opposition from people who live on Myrtle Avenue. They first were before the planning commission in March and pulled their resolution before a vote, and then asked to be removed from the April agenda as well. The developers had sought a public hearing on Thursday and changed their plans again according to the "Herald Palladium." CVS wants the store to be built and open by November.
