St. Joseph High School To Unveil New Auditorium Thursday

A ribbon cutting and open house will be held Thursday at St. Joseph High School for the new John and Dede Howard Auditorium. Superintendent Ann Cardon says it's the final piece of a four-year renovation made possible by voters.

The high school has a brand-new media center, a new student lobby and countless other upgrades. Cardon tells WSJM News that a senior recently spoke at a school board meeting and said she's used the new media center more this year than her three previous years combined.

The auditorium renovation has been able to be much more extensive than the original plans thanks to the private donation by the Howards.

New LED lights have also been installed along with a new mechanical stage rigging system. The ribbon cutting will take place at 5 pm, with an open house from 5:30 to 8 pm.
