More GM Congressional Hearings Coming

The problems at General Motors from a massive recall are still being looked into on Capitol Hill. Congressman Fred Upton expects to hold more hearings on the recall of 2.6 million vehicles for ignition switch problems later this spring or summer.

Upton says they're waiting to see what GM's own internal report finds as well.

The automaker's CEO Mary Barra testified earlier this month before Upton's Energy and Commerce Subcommittee and before a Senate panel as well. The defect has been linked to 13 deaths by GM. The automaker has asked a federal judge to shield it from lawsuits, as the vehicles were made by the old version of the company that disappeared through bankruptcy.
