Crop Walk Approval Currently Halted

Approval of an annual fundraiser to help fight hunger has been tabled until more information can be provided to Benton Harbor City Commissioners. Approval of the 35th Annual Blossomland Crop Walk through parts of the City was denied Monday. Commissioner Duane Seats says over 34-years $1.2-million has been raised for the cause with only $300,000 staying in the area.

City Manager Darwin Watson says information can be gathered and possibly presented to the Commission.

The Blossomland Crop Walk is organized by Church World Services, and is scheduled for Sunday, May 18 at the First Congregational Church in St. Joseph.
