The Parent Responsibility Act Is Gaining Support In The MI Senate

A House bill which would suspend welfare benefits to parents of truant children is gaining support in the state Senate. The Parent Responsibility Act has already passed the House, state Representative Al Pscholka says he only needs a few more votes to get it through the Senate.

He hopes the bill will help wayward parents to make sure their kids have the best chance to succeed. Pscholka says the bill is not intended to be a punishment but rather an incentive for families in need and ensure they are on a path to stability and prosperity.
