As part of a presentation on cancer research, a giant, inflatable colon will be on display this Friday at Niles High School. The walk-through colon is part of the Niles New Tech Entrepreneurial Academy's presentation on cancer and its impact on the community. It's presented by Michiana Hematology Oncology to promote proper colorectal health. If caught early, colon cancer is said to be one of the most preventable cancers. The display, and students on site, will help educate and provide tools to help attendees be proactive about their health. The event is free and open to the public, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
