Open House and Ribbon Cutting For New SJHS Auditorium



Work is wrapping up on the John and Dede Howard Auditorium at St. Joseph High School. A ceremonial ribbon cutting is set for next Thursday, April 24 at 5 pm, with an open house to follow from 5:30 to 8. Superintendent Dr. Ann Cardon joined WSJM's Brenda Layne to talk about the project, and said major changes have been made to the auditorium over the past year and a half.

The rebuild of the auditorium is the last piece of a four-pronged construction project in the St. Joseph Public Schools over the past several years according to school board president Amy Porritt-Pierce.

A ceremonial ribbon cutting will be held at 5 pm before the open house begins. The middle and high school holiday concerts in December 2012 were the last events held in the auditorium before it was gutted and renovated.
