Mayor Bob Burr: South Haven Is Marketing Quality Of Life



The average age of a South Haven resident is not what it once was. Mayor Bob Burr says that's not a bad thing, it's just different from a decade ago. He says the median age is 50.3-years old, while the state's is just under 40-years old. That puts the average South Haven resident 10-years old than other Michiganders.

Burr says South Haven is in a deficit for 35 to 40 year old residents. As the economy has also changed over the last few years, he says the city would rather focus on marketing 'quality of life' to outsiders as opposed to selling South Haven as a manufacturing destination.
