A 69-year-old Gobles man is being treated for head and neck injuries following an ATV crash Monday morning in Bloomingdale Township. According to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department, the man was found unconscious, not breathing and bleeding from the head after an accident in a corn field in the 12-thousand block of M-40. A witness tells police the man reached up to grab his hat as it was blowing off and accidentally hit the throttle and lost control. The witness was riding on the ATV as a passenger and called 9-1-1 immediately after the accident. The victim was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, where his status is not known at this time. Police say the man was not wearing a helmet. Alcohol is not a factor in the crash.
