Benton Harbor is set to receive nearly $2 million from the state to help pay for stormwater and wastewater management projects, and the village of Stevensville is receiving just over $226,000. The grants were announced Thursday by state Representative Al Pscholka, who says the money is being made available through the state's Department of Environmental Quality. He introduced legislation two years ago to make over $650 million available for local governments after the money was first approved by voters in 2002. Pscholka says the funding got mired in state red tape.
