Pothole War Underway

Warmer weather means potholes are popping up everywhere. Berrien County Road Commission managing director Louis Csokasy says they're doing all they can.

The state approved an extra $215 million for road repairs this month.

Csokasy says southern Berrien County is the worst right now for potholes, as it's a lower elevation and the drainage is not as good as the St. Joseph and Benton Harbor areas. The road commission's budget took a big hit with this winter's weather, and Csokasy says that will result in fewer maintenance projects this summer like mowing.
