Extra Days Tacked Onto BHAS School Year

With a little help from Mother Nature, graduation is being pushed back by a week in the Benton Harbor school district. At a special meeting Wednesday the school board voted to add extra days to the calendar year to comply with state rules.

Superintendent Dr. Leonard Seawood says 14-days of school were canceled this year, the majority due to snow. One was due to a power outage. The last day of school was originally scheduled for May 30, but that and graduation is now pushed back to June 6.
