Bill Introduced To Repeal Driver Responsibility Fees



Fees that have been on the books in Michigan since 2003 could soon be going away. Representative Joe Haveman of Holland has introduced a bill this week to repeal the driver responsibility fees, saying they're not needed and were enacted when the state was broke.

Haveman's bill has the support of nearly every member of the state House with the exception of Republican and Democratic leaders, who do not cosponsor bills. He says the repeal would save drivers $80 million once the fees are off the books.
