St. Joseph Commission Holding Special Meeting Tonight

The St. Joseph City Commission will vote tonight on revising the city’s ordinance regarding sidewalk sales at downtown businesses. Several took part in a pilot program last summer and noted a good deal of success. The proposed changes will allow for items to be placed on sidewalks directly in front of stores that have obtained a permit from the city from April 1 to November 1 each year. The commission will also hear from developers of The Inn at Harbor Shores and vote on their request for a new liquor license. To date, they have been unable to purchase an existing liquor license ahead of the mid-May expected opening of the hotel. Construction is on schedule to have the facility ready just before the Senior PGA Championship is played at Harbor Shores.

Tonight's speicla meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
