Representative Genetski Talks Pothole Funding



State House and Senate conference committee members are trying to hammer out an agreement on extra money to fix potholes around Michigan. The House approved over $200 million, while the Senate okayed about half of that. Representative Bob Genetski of Saugatuck says no matter which version is the final bill, the extra money will be put to good use.

The Senate bill sends the money through the Michigan Department of Transportation to be distributed to county road commissions and local road agencies, while the House bill bypasses MDOT for an all-out assault on potholes.
