People who think the water bills are already too expensive from the City of Benton Harbor won't be happy to hear the latest request from the city. They're asking water customers to turn on the faucet the farthest away from the water meter and let it run until further notice in a very thin stream, about the size of a pencil lead. Doing so is expected to help prevent water lines from the city and water pipes inside homes from freezing. City officials say contractors can't keep up all over Michigan with fixing frozen pipes, and this should help alleviate some of the problems.
