I&M Warns Of An E-Mail Phishing Scam



Indiana Michigan Power reports an e-mail phishing scam has been targeting customers. Tracy Warner with I&M says AEP became aware of the scam last week.

The scam sends e-mails that appear to originate from the utility company. When recipients click on a link in the e-mail, it can make their computer vulnerable to information and identity theft. Warner says the e-mail has a short message that supposedly has your bill. I&M says they want customers to be aware of the scam and be cautious about any unusual e-mails that may appear to be sent from AEP.
