The Chaplain of the U.S. Senate is coming to Andrews University. Barry Black will be the featured speaker for this year's Graduate Student Consecration Service. The event takes place Saturday, January 18 in the Howard Performing Arts Center. In 2003, Black was elected the 62nd Chaplain of the Senate, prior to that he served in the U.S. Navy for over 27-years. In addition to opening the Senate each day in prayer, Black provides counseling and spiritual care for Senators and their families. Black's sermon is entitled "The Blessing of Adversity." The event is free and open to the public.
