Band Director Resigns, Though BHHS Wanted To Keep Him

Benton Harbor High School is sounding the horn for a new band director. Sir Davis, who was leading the program since the beginning of the year, resigned in December. Superintendent Dr. Leonard Seawood says the district did all it could to retain him.

Seawood says the High School worked with Berrien RESA to keep Davis on as long as they could, while he worked the state to get certified. Board members understand the situation, but are concerned because the Benton Harbor Marching Band plays a big role in the Blossomtime Parade, which is only a few months away. Seawood says the band director position is posted.
