Detective Search For Suspect In Niles Walmart Arson/Robbery

Berrien County Detectives are asking the public for help in catching the suspect in Sunday's arson/robbery at the Niles Walmart on South 11th Street. Surveillance footage shows a thin, white, male, wearing a dark coat, khaki pants and a ski mask walk into the store just before 5 a.m. He set fire to some baby clothes to distract employees, then pried open a display case, and stole thousands of dollars in Apple electronics.

Surveillance footage shows, and Lt. Greg Sanders believes, the suspect did a step-by-step run through of the crime one-day prior. The Walmart has been closed since the crime took place. The cost in water damage from the sprinkler system has not been released. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Berrien County Detectives or CrimeStoppers.
