Congressman Upton Previews January Activity On Capitol Hill



Congress gets back to work next week, with several big items set for votes within the first few weeks of the year. Congressman Fred Upton joined WSJM's Pat Moody Friday morning for a preview, with the budget up first.

He doesn't anticipate a repeat of last fall's partial government shutdown anytime soon.

Upton said a Farm Bill is likely to be approved by the end of January, as House and Senate conference committee members have the separate bills before them now. Immigration reform is also among the top priorities for lawmakers in the early part of 2014.
