Deputies have arrested a man in Allegan County for the attempted robbery of a PNC Bank. The 59-year old from South Bend, Indiana was reported by bank staff as acting suspicious early last week in the city of Martin. The man left then returned to the bank last Friday. Before he could enter, the bank manager locked the front door and called police. Officers in Plainwell stopped his vehicle and found him to be in possession of a concealed handgun. After an investigation it was determined the suspect has been involved in several other bank robberies in Michigan and Indiana. The Indiana man now sits in the Allegan County Jail awaiting arraignment.
