November home sales were up a solid 10% over last year's numbers, according to Southwest Michigan Association of Realtors. Last month's total dollar volume surpassed November 2012 by 14% and the year-to-date total dollar volume was up 20%. First-time buyers accounted for 28% of purchases in November, unchanged from October; they were 30 percent in November 2012. Realtor Gary Walter says November 2006 was the peak for the housing market, and this past November numbers regained ground to be the third best in the time period. Falling behind 2006 and 2007 as first and second, respectively.
