St. Joseph City Commission Gets A Raise

For the first time since 1997, those who serve on the St. Joseph City Commission will get a small pay raise for that position. Commissioners accepted the pay increase recommendation from the city's Municipal Officers Compensation Commission, but did not vote on it. That means the increases will take effect in 30 days. MOCC chair Mary Heaton ran through the new compensation.

City Manager Richard Lewis and Commissioner Jeff Richards had this exchange after the raises were proposed.

The new pay scale is in effect for 2014 and 2015.
