Martin's Super Market Offers "Caroline's Cart"

A new shopping cart, designed to accommodate children with disabilities, is being offered at Martin's Super Market. "Caroline's Cart" has specially made handles that swing away, allowing easy access to the seat, and a platform below the seat to serve as a footrest. First ordered for the Granger, Indiana location, Don Loutzenhiser with Martin's says that quickly changed.

The cart was originally designed by an Alabama couple whose daughter, Caroline Long, was born with Rett syndrome - a disorder of the nervous system. Loutzenhiser says Martin's is the first supermarket in the nation to offer the specialty cart.
