$7 A Gallon For Milk Looming If Farm Bill Fails By December 31

Can Democrats and Republicans in Congress come to an agreement on farm programs in the next four weeks? They're facing a deadline of December 31 to get a new five-year Farm Bill passed, with the legislation now before a House and Senate conference committee to hammer out differences.

That's Congressman Fred Upton talking about one possible impact of not having a deal done.

There are big differences between the Republicans in the House and the Senate over cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which funds food stamps. The House passed a separate bill slashing SNAP, while the Senate included more modest cuts as part of it's overall package. Upton is remaining confident a new deal can get done.
