New 69-KV Line Installation Will Impact I-94 Traffic

Planned power line work in Berrien County is set to close a portion of the interstate. Indiana Michigan Power is set to install new transmission lines this Sunday.

That's Plant Communications Manager Bill Schalk. He says the work will take place from 7-10 a.m. between Red Arrow Highway Exit-16 in Bridgman and John Beers Road Exit-22 in Stevensville. The work will whittle traffic down to one lane in both directions. Periodically all lanes will be closed, but for no longer than 15-minutes at a time. Schalk suggests using Red Arrow Highway to bypass the project.
