The public is invited to an open house next Wednesday in South Haven to discuss public recreation. The Van Buren Trial project will connect Downtown South Haven and Van Buren State Park, it will also be a connection to the Kal Haven Trail. The effort is being done in coordination with a Michigan Department of Natural Resources project. They're paving the former railroad from Aylworth Avenue to the State Park. The meeting will last two-hours beginning at 5 p.m. in City Hall. Both projects should be complete by next Memorial Day. The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund is paying for 60% of the project.
