A two bill package sponsored by state Representative Al Pscholka, intended to reform the Michigan Drain Code, was passed by the state House Wednesday. The bills allow for revision of boundaries of a drain district, a review by property owners, and the opportunity to appeal a decision from the drain commissioners office. The Michigan Drain Code hasn't been updated in more than five decades. Pscholka says these bills protect property owners rights and make sure we have accurate assessments based on facts. The bills now head to the state Senate.
