Upton: Shutdown Could Last A While

The federal government shutdown isn't going to be over quickly. That's the view of Congressman Fred Upton, who is hoping lawmakers can find some common ground on the budget soon.

Upton says tough decisions have to be made by everyone.

The House is working on passing smaller bills to fund different segments of the government. Monday night, Congress passed and President Obama signed legislation to keep the military funded through the shutdown. Upton says bills funding the VA and other parts of the government are also coming soon.
