Dowagiac Schools are investigating after a student had a gun at the football game Friday night. The weapon turned out to be an unloaded air soft pistol and was never shown to anyone. Public Safety officers add there was never a threat suggested to anyone and they are not treating it as a criminal matter at this time. Public Safety Chief Steven Grinnewald is reminding everyone that schools are weapons-free zones. The school district's resources officer was notified by several students and adults that they thought the student had the gun. No names have been released.
