Enrollment is up at Southwestern Michigan College's Niles campus. School officials say preliminary figures show a jump of 24% in enrollment over last fall, from 618 to 766 students. On top of that, they're also taking more classes as credit hours have gone up nearly 30% in Niles. Classes started on September 4, and the school began a $3 million campus renovation earlier this year. Niles campus dean Stacy Horner says nearly every parking spot on campus was full on the first day of class.
