E. coli levels in the water at South Haven's North Beach are back down to normal. The city is reopening the beach after it was shut down Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain this week is blamed for the elevated levels of the bacteria in the water. Water samples taken Wednesday by the Van Buren/Cass County District Public Health Department cleared the beach to be opened back up. This week's brief closure was the second time this summer North Beach was closed to swimmers. South Beach had remained open this time.
