Pratt Gets 7-Years For Village Market Case

After defrauding his former employer, Village Market Food Centers, 42-year old Christopher Pratt of Portage is going to prison. The centers' former comptroller was sentenced Monday to 7-years and 3-months and ordered to pay over $6.5-million in restitution and forfeit an additional $6.5-million to the government. Pratt abused his position, nearly running Village Market out of business. At least three centers were closed and 170-employees terminated. Pratt stole roughly $7-million from the company over a seven year period, using it to buy and refurbish number of muscle cars. The FBI recovered many of the vehicles, they were turned over to a receiver seeking to recover assets on behalf of Village Market.
