The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is signing off on the recent repairs at the Palisades nuclear power plant. NRC Region Three Administrator Chuck Casto sent a letter to Palisades officials Wednesday saying they are satisified with the work done to repair and replace leaking nozzles. He added, though, that the concrete support structure around the ceiling of the control room will need further monitoring. Casto said the cracks in the structure could lead to water coming in, and the issue needs to be taken care of before Palisades' next restart from a refueling outage.
