WWII B-17 Bomber In Berrien County This Weekend



The World War Two B-17 bomber "Sentimental Journey" will be in the area all weekend. It's one of less than ten that are still flying. Lest We Forget's Don Alsbro says they were fortunate enough to be able to bring in the bomber for tours and people to take flights out of the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport.

The flights aren't cheap, but will provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience and thrill. Prices are $425 to ride in the radio room and gunner area, and $850 for a ride in the nose.

Tours of the plane will be given all weekend for $5. You can make reservations for flights by calling 602-448-9415 or emailing b17rc@azcaf.org, as the plane is operated by the Arizona Airbase of the Commemorative Air Force.
