MSU Extension Doesn't Expect Widespread Damage From Freeze



Michigan State University Extension is checking around to gauge the damage from this morning's freeze in west and southwest Michigan. Mark Longstroth is a fruit specialist at MSU Extension in Van Buren County and says he does expect to have a little bit of damage, but not a lot.

Forecasters donít believe at this point that another freeze or frost could crop up again this spring. Before the freeze overnight and cold weather that hit Northern Michigan over the weekend, there were hopes that 2013 could bring a bumper crop for apples, grapes, tart cherries and more.
