A 34-year-old Bangor Township man is facing several charges after Van Buren County deputies served a warrant for his arrest as a parole absconder Thursday evening. Toby Farley ran out the back of the home in the 28-thousand block of County Road 687 in Bangor when officers arrived through a swampy, wooded area. He was arrested after a chase, but allegedly tried to pull a handgun out of the holster of one of the deputies during the struggle. It's not the first time he'd done that, as he was convicted in 2006 of disarming a State Trooper, who shot him during that struggle seven years ago. Farley is in the Van Buren County Jail, charged with absconding parole, resisting arrest and attempted disarming of a police officer. He's due to be arraigned on the charges today in South Haven.
