John And Dede Howard Give Donation For St Joseph High School Auditorium

Above and beyond. That's how the donation of an undisclosed amount of money from John and Dede Howard to St. Joseph Public Schools for their high school auditorium renovation is described by district spokeswoman Christine Waterhouse. She said several people came together to secure the funding, which is on top of the bond that's paying for the lion's share of the work.

Listen:

Waterhouse says the money from the Howards will allow the district to replace all of the seats in the auditorium rather than just reupholster them. Additionally, school-owned musical instruments that date back 40 to 50 years will be replaced and the lighting and sound system will get upgrades in the auditorium. The auditorium will be named for the elderly couple, and details about the dedication are coming later this year.
