People are a bit on edge with the bombings this week at the Boston Marathon, but a local panic alarm turns out to have just been an accident. Dowagiac Public Safety Director Tom Atkinson tells WSJM News in an email they responded to the alarm at Justus Gage Elementary school just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. After a short investigation, officers determined a student had accidentally set off the alarm, which had triggered a lockdown. The lockdown was lifted at that point, and all is well.
