Grape growers in southwest Michigan are being invited to attend the first in-season meeting from Michigan State University Extension officials later this month. The meeting will be at the Berrien County MSU Extension office in Benton Harbor from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 24. Agricultural experts will be talking about updates on fungicides and provide a new grape virus factsheet. Growers are hoping for a better year in 2013 after the area's juice grape crop was decimated by freezes last year. Wine grapes took a hit, but came through the unusual spring weather in 2012 a little better than most fruits. MSU Extension will hold meetings for grape growers in May in Lawton and August in Berrien Springs.
