The city of South Haven is providing land to a dredging contractor to deposit what's brought up from the Black River this spring in dredging projects. In a statement, Harbormaster Paul VandenBosch says the city is working with Gro America on the project, and the agreement to use city land will expire at the end of July. Low water levels in Lake Michigan and siltation in the Black River have resulted in a high demand for dredging services in South Haven Harbor. The partnership between the city and Gro America will allow private marinas and docks to enter into contracts directly with Gro America.
