A press conference is planned in Benton Harbor in front of the house on Jennings Street where Fire Fighter Lt. Doug Bell was injured last month. The Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union will hold the press conference Thursday, April 4, to call on the state treasurer and Benton Harbor emergency manager to put an end to the city's Public Safety Department and replace it with separate police and fire departments. Union President Mark Docherty will be there along with members of the PSO Committee. The MPFFU contends PSO officers are not adequately trained to fight fires, the press conference begins at 11:00 a.m.
