Hartford schools have selected their next superintendent, and stayed in-house for him. Andy Hubbard made the most of a second chance, as he had not been one of the two finalists for the job until one of the other candidates withdrew from consideration earlier this month. The school board elected Hubbard, who is currently Hartford's assistant superindent. Mike Hallgren is stepping aside as superintendent at the end of June and will work as the district's business manager. He has done both jobs for the past four years. Hubbard has been assistant superintendent since August after working two years as the assistant high school principal and athletic director.
