A routine traffic stop has turned into an arrest of a Grand Rapids man. Early Wednesday morning Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police stopped 46-year old Gerald Jerome Crawford on northbound US 31 because his license plate was not legible. Crawford didn't have a driver's license or paperwork on the vehicle. During a search of the Dodge Durango, officer's found a loaded 40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a small amount of pot. Crawford was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of Firearm and Driving with Suspended License.
