There's a deal to be had on Amtrak tickets between now and the end of the month for families looking for a spring break trip. State Senator John Proos is promoting a 20% discount for those who book their train tickets online for spring break before March 31.
The discount is available for the Pere Marquette line, which runs through St. Joseph and Bangor, and the Blue Water and Wolverine lines, which have stops in Berrien County in Niles. Pere Marquette connects Grand Rapids to Chicago. The Blue Water line runs to Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, East Lansing and Port Huron, while the Wolverine will take you from Niles to either Chicago or Detroit.
