A House Bill is Trying to Modernize the Election Process

A bill set up to help save taxpayer dollars in administering village elections is passing the State House. Representative Dave Pagel's bill is part of a package that modernizes the election process by transferring the duties of local canvassing boards to the county level. The Oronoko Township Republican says "it's just common sense to consolidate these functions, since county boards of canvassers already oversee local elections." The measure passed unanimously and now moves to the Senate.
