A Benton Harbor Firefighter burned in an early Thursday morning blaze is still in the hospital. Director of Public Safety Roger Lange tells our newsroom Lt. Doug Bell, while reporting to a structure fire in the 1000 Block of Jennings Street, was injured and taken to Lakeland Hospital by medic then later transported to the Burn Center in Kalamazoo.
The fire is still under investigation and a cause is unknown. Lange says Bell has been on everyone's mind.
Another officer who reported to the fire was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, but was later released and is doing fine.
