$1.4 million is possibly coming to Southwest Michigan for several parks improvements this year. The state Senate approved spending $23 million from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund last week, and Senator John Proos says there are several projects that will benefit from the funding.
Proos says the most money will be spent on South Beach in South Haven to extend the park to build a recreational trail.
The Indiana-Michigan River Valley Trail in southern Berrien County will also receive $286,000 of the total project costs of $842,000.
