Legal action may be implemented into the fight of commissioner residency confirmation. Benton Harbor City Commission Trenton Bowens is not happy about the recent resolution passed which asks the public safety director to verify that commissioners reside in the city. It's been reported that Emergency Financial Manager Tony Saunders will let the measure stand. Bowens says the resolution is aimed at himself and Dennis Knowles, and that it's only a rumor he doesn't stay in the city.
Bowens says he would have no problem with this if it were done on a yearly basis.
Voting "no" was all Bowens could do earlier this week to fight the resolution, but he has further plans to fight more.
Commissioner Duane Seats put forward the resolution because of an alleged rumor he had heard of some commissioners no longer living in the city.
